This lookbook features one of my current favourite trends in the modesty movement; duster coats. Starting off with a basic monochrome outfit, these can be thrown on to add a pop of colour and effortlessly tie the look together. Here I've styled two ways in which these can be worn, showcasing both a day and nighttime look.
GlamGals Cosmetics is an affordable, cruelty-free, Dubai-based makeup brand that was brought to Botswana in January this year. You may have read my review on some of their products a few months ago - so if you've been interested in finding out more about the brand, I've got a review on three more of their products today.
The end of May has brought the beginning of Ramadhan for us Muslims out there, so I'd firstly like to say Ramadhan Mubarak to those of you who are fasting this month. I've tried out quite a few new beauty products over the past few weeks so I thought it was about time I share the ones I've been loving in a monthly favourites post.
I recently came across a video by modest fashion icon, Dina Torkia (or "Dina Tokio" as most people know her), where she blatantly admitted the truth about her feelings towards the hijab. She mentioned that she, in fact, doesn't always like wearing the hijab and the one reason why she has still kept it on her head for so long is for the simple reason that it's what God wants. The video got me thinking about the reason why I wear the hijab and I have to admit that I came to the same conclusion.
This past Monday, the annual Met Gala took place and by the end of it I couldn't help but find myself inspired by some of the amazing looks that appeared on the red carpet. For this week's post, I decided to share some products that you could easily get your hands on to create dewy looking skin - an essential in recreating those red carpet looks.
Unfortunately, I am not as talented and experienced in the kitchen as I wish I was and definitely not when it comes to making desserts. In fact, this was my first attempt at making a "fancy-ish" dessert. This one, to my advantage, turned out to be super easy to make and only took about 20 minutes on my first try - and most importantly did not flop (whoop whoop). I made this Panna Cotta dessert for Friday Jummah lunch and everyone seemed to enjoy it, especially since it wasn't too filling to eat after that heavy meal. So I thought I would share it with you guys and hopefully rescue anyone out there who is as inexperienced in the kitchen as I am.
