Homemade Exfoliating Scrub

I’ve recently been trying out a homemade exfoliating scrub and I’ve ended up loving it! This scrub is so easy to make, you literally just need two ingredients which you can easily find in your kitchen.

All you will need is a lemon and some brown sugar. Honey is optional.

Firstly, cut the lemon into small cubes. Next, all you do is sprinkle some of your brown sugar onto the lemon cube using a spoon. This is best done over a sink to avoid making a mess. All you do now is use the lemon to scrub the brown sugar all over your face. Both these ingredients together will exfoliate your skin and get rid of dead skin cells. You can keep adding sugar onto the lemon as you go. Feel free to add honey onto the lemon as well.

Exfoliating your skin at least once a week should be a part of your skin care routine because over time, your skin should glow and work more efficiently.

Lemon contains citric acid and vitamin C, so rubbing lemon on your skin will help to clear and brighten it up. It also helps to remove tan and reduces the appearance of scars. Lemon is also an antibacterial, so will help to reduce the appearance of blackheads as well.

The brown sugar will basically help to scrub out any clogged pores you have, helping to prevent acne.

Honey is moisturising and soothing to the skin. It is also an antibacterial, so it will help to treat spots you have.

I prefer to use this scrub on my face once a week, before a shower. I would advise not to use this scrub more than twice a week because that could be quite harsh on your skin. Also, I wouldn’t advise using it if you have any open scars or pimples on your face because it may sting.
