My Fashion Fears

For the longest time, I haven’t had the inspiration to sit down and write a new post, but when I heard about Dia & Co’s Try-Day Friday campaign – a weekly challenge to experiment with fashion – I knew I had to get back into it.

We all have that one item of clothing in our closet that we absolutely love but never have the courage to wear because it would mean stepping out of our comfort zone. This post is about encouraging you to overcome those fashion fears and second thoughts – to wear what you want to wear and feel confident doing it.

So I have to admit there are a few styles of clothing I avoid when shopping – wide-legged pants being one of them. I can’t remember the last time I walked out of the house in a pair of pants that weren’t fitted and that’s usually because I don’t think they suit my body type.

These pants are something I’ve seen a lot of people wearing lately and have always wanted to try out, but just never knew how to style them. That’s why I stuck with a casual look and paired them with one of my most worn pieces this winter – a warm chunky knit jumper. This outfit was as comfortable as it looks, which just made me feel even more confident wearing it.

Bold lips are another makeup trend that I love but generally avoid, especially since nude lips have been the biggest craze lately. I decided to pair this look with Diva, by Mac for a winter-inspired makeup look.

I do tend to avoid experimenting and taking risks with the looks I choose to wear. However, I do intend to change that. One of the things I’m hoping to experiment more with in the future is new hijab styles.

Hopefully, I’ve managed to encourage some of you to step out of your comfort zone and try something new with your look. Let me know in the comments below what fashion fear you’re challenging yourself to overcome!
